| Dear Friends, This is Chung Yin. From now on, please call me Joshua and change my email. You may surprise why I suddenly change the name that was named when I was a child. Let's get the long story in brief, if you're interested: I recognized the true meaning of my old name for years. Several months ago, I had an urge to change it. I pray. Some good names came up, but I was still uncertain. One day, in a devotion, I read Deut 12:5, I realised that my new name should have "put his Name there for his dwelling" and the first name came up into my mind was Joshua, which means Jehovah is help or Jehovah the Saviour. What a coincidence, in those times, b/s were kept praying for me to "be strong and courageous", which is exactly God's command & His people's encouragement to Joshua (Jos 1:6-9, 18; 8:1; 10:8; 11:6) and have "wisdom" (Deut 34:9) -- I do need both. These reminded me of that in the beginning of 2007, I pray that God be with me (Num 11:25; 27:18; Deut 34:9; Jos 1:6, 3:7, 6:27). All of the above scriptures and "Joshua" came up again and again in the past months... and, I do love "Joshua". So, next time, when we meet, please call me Joshua (or 仲賢 if you like). I believe, whenever we speak "Joshua", we are proclaiming "Jehovah the Saviour" and blessing each other to "be strong and courageous". Hallelujah! CY is Joshua |
